Need to know more about the Juno Distillery and our spirit collection?

The EU definition of gin describes it as a clear neutral spirit of agricultural origin, predominantly flavoured with juniper, and having an alcohol by volume (abv)  of 37.5% – 45%. Juno Gin ranges between 40% abv and 44% abv, with a 55% barrel-aged and a 55% Navy Strength available.

Technically yes, gin is a vodka that has been flavoured with botanical material (primarily juniper). But I think all those who love gin prefer not to think of it that way! All our gins are vapour-infused in Lila, our lovely locally-made copper still.

The base alcohol for our spirits is a neutral spirit of agricultural origin. This includes any of grains, vegetable, fruit and lactose. These are fermented (by yeast) and the alcohol produced is then distilled. At Juno spirits the base alcohol is made from lactose.

Dry Gins contain no sugar at all (all of Juno’s Gins are dry). Liqueurs contain additional sugar which may be as high as 30%.

Technically all gin and vodkas should be gluten-free as gluten is not carried across from the original fermented product during distillation. But if you want to be extra sure, then choose a spirit where the base alcohol is made from lactose as opposed to a grain. Juno Spirits are all gluten-free!

We have worked with Massey University to develop the Juniper industry here in NZ, and we are currently growing our own Juniper Tree grove. However, if you are growing Juniper yourself we would love to hear from you.

If your pooch is well-behaved, we are happy for them to join you in our courtyard space, so long as the staff are allowed to have pats of your canine friend.

Yes, you can absolutely purchase spirits directly from our distillery cellar door! We’re open seven days a week. Visit our Contact Us page for our latest opening hours. Why not enjoy a cocktail, mocktail or Casual Tasting on your visit.

Some like to store it in the freezer for that amazing martini moment, and we recommend somewhere out of direct sunlight. Dark and cool is perfect!

You sure can! We have hosted corporate events, birthdays and even weddings here at the distillery. Get in touch with out team and they can help you organise your special event.

We would love for you to come pay us a visit and enjoy a Cocktail in our relaxing tasting room and sunny courtyard. The Juno crew are are always trying new things. The only day we aren’t open for cocktails is a Tuesday.

For the North Island, Monday – Thursday orders placed before 1pm usually arrive the next day.

For the South Island and for rural deliveries, add an extra 24 hours.

For Australia please allow a week to 10 days

Please note, at busy times of the year all of the courier companies can experience extra pressure so deliveries can take longer.

Yes! We deliver to Australia, please note there will be an excise fee you will have to pay when your goods arrive into Australia.

We do post into Australia, but not anywhere else at the moment. As a company, we are required to have an importing agent (to pay the Excise duty). If you liaise with a friend, they would be able to mail it you as a private individual.

Yes, we most certainly do! Check out our Tour page for what we have on offer. If the tour time doesn’t suit or you’re tight on time, you can always come and enjoy a casual tasting or a cocktail in our courtyard space.

We offer a Non-Alcoholic option as part of all our Tours and Cocktail classes. Those choosing a Non-Alc tour options get to choose a delicious Mocktail from our menu and can enjoy listening to our tour guides. We currently do not offer any Non-Alcoholic spirits.

We have an amazing collection of Mocktails! We reckon its the biggest mocktail menu in New Plymouth. If you don’t fancy a mocktail we have all your other favorite soft-drinks on offer.

We have lots of parking at the distillery as well as two disabled parking bays outside the distillery.
